Organization Description.  The Center for Earth Leadership (the Center) is a small nonprofit founded and directed by Jeanne and Dick Roy, also co-founders of the Northwest Earth Institute and the Oregon Natural Step Network.  The Center has a regular staff of 3.5 FTE, an office in downtown Portland, and teams of volunteers working to support various Center programs and projects. 

The Center's mission is to enlist, train, motivate, and support citizens who wish to assume a greater leadership role in creating an ecologically sustainable future.  To pursue this mission, the Center offers classes and workshops, organizes projects, and creates publications.  Operating primarily in the greater Portland area, the Center also offers programs in Eugene and other communities.

Duties.  The Administrative Assistant handles administrative work and assists with program work.  Specific duties include the following:

1.       Handle office operations including database management.

2.       Prepare class materials and assist in coordinating logistics for programs.

3.       Assist Co-Directors on projects and fundraising.

4.       Assist in outreach for programs.

Required Skills & Qualifications.

• Demonstrated commitment to protect the earth.

• Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, database work, general layout design, and record keeping. 

• Seeking half-time employment, working five days a week.

• Proficient with English grammar for editing written work.

• Experience in working with people by phone and additional technological skills, a plus.
